M&S Bank marketing director Amanda Newman, Nisa marketing director Ian Bishop, and Warburtons marketing director Mark Simester have all made the shortlist for the Chartered Institute of Marketing North’s brand marketer of the year award.

CIM North partnered with agency search consultants RAR to identify the top brand marketers in the North of England, whittling the list down to those that have demonstrated great leadership and driving growth for their brands through creative and effective marketing.

The shortlist was confirmed following analysis of submissions collected from brands across the region.

Steve Antoniewicz, director of RAR, said: “We’re always pleased to support CIM on any initiative and especially on these awards which help to highlight some of the marketing leaders delivering great outcomes for their brands. There are top tier brands right across the North in just about every sector and some fantastic work going on so this is a very competitive category.”

Joining Bishop, Newman and Simester in the final list are: Simon Eyles, marketing director, Taylors of Harrogate; James Lawton-Hill, head of marketing, Brother UK; Shona Jameson, marketing director, Cotton Traders; Steve Griffiths, head of marketing, Swinton Insurance; and Paul Say, chief marketing officer (UK & Ireland), Sage Group.

The results will be announced at The CIM Northern Awards ceremony held in Leeds on the 24 June.
