Microsoft snaps up German to-do list app Wunderlist
Microsoft has agreed to acquire 6Wunderkinder GmbH, the Berlin-based firm behind the Wunderlist app.
The Wall Street Journal stated that the deal for the to-do app went through for between $100m and $200m.
The purchase will go a long way to bolstering Microsoft’s mobile apps which are now available on Apple’s iOS and Android.
The 6Wunderkinder team will remain in Berlin but will report to Microsoft headquarters in Redmond.
Christian Reber, founder and chief executive of 6Wunderkinder GmbH, said in a blog post: “Over the next few months as Wunderlist becomes a part of the Microsoft family, we’ll introduce a host of new features, continue growing the ecosystem of partner integrations and progress in delivering Wunderlist to billions of people.
“We are excited and can’t wait to share with you what we have been working on -watch this space.”
It comes after Microsoft recently boosted its mobile offering with the purchases of and Acompli.
