Tea brand PG Tips has unveiled what it describes as the biggest innovation since the introduction of pyramid teabags in 1996, an all-new pack design.

The upgraded packaging has been designed by Jones Knowles Ritchie to be stored more easily on shelving with a vibrant colour scheme of bold red, green and white to stand out from the crowd, including an all new logo.

Kate Hearn, senior brand manager for PG tips at Unilever UK, said: “We’ve listened to our consumers and redesigned our packaging to make the brand more relevant to shoppers, especially the younger consumer. We also believe that the clear, fresh new look, with a bigger and bolder PG tips logo, will make it easier for shoppers to find their favourite tea brand in the busy supermarket aisle.”

There will be some continuity amidst all this change however with PG Tips retaining the same formats and case sizes which are currently in use.
