Disney World has become the latest attraction to ban selfie sticks from its grounds after a newly minted ‘No Selfie Stick’ sign was spotted at the entrance to the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride.

The theme park follows a number of music festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza in outlawing the narcissistic attachment owing to the inherent hazards of waving 3-foot long sticks in the air in crowded environments.

Disney said its hand was forced after tourists whipped the devices out whilst on the ride, forcing operators to halt the ride several times on safety grounds.

Selfie lovers aren’t totally outlawed from the park however, with managers conceding that sticks can still be carried in bags so long as they remain there during rides.
