Mobile-based dating app Tinder has bolstered its users’ profiles offering them the opportunity to link up with their Instagram accounts.

To create a fuller picture of users Tinder has introduced the ability to connect accounts with Instagram in its latest update.

The service requires a valid Facebook account to be activated with users previously only to share images from the social media site.

Giving viewers more content to peruse, the update now grants access to each linked profile’s latest 34 Instagram pictures. Furthermore, users can grant access to their private Instagram accounts.

A Tinder statement read: “Simply open Tinder, go to your new profile, and connect it to your Instagram account with a single tap - your Tinder profile will automatically start displaying your recent Instagram photos.

“And in case you were wondering, Tinder won’t post anything to Instagram on your behalf or alter your existing Instagram privacy settings.”

Additionally, Tinder now shows users mutual friends and friends of friends you have in common with potential matches, granting more context and an extra degree of connection to every swipe.

This comes after the network in March introduced paid-for features, although the latest update remains free.
