The National Lottery has committed to social media gaming on Facebook and Twitter, enabling users to win cash prizes, live on screen.

Camelot and its social media agency, Kindred, have released a number of instant win games (IWGs) such as ‘Hook a Duck’, giving players the chance to snag some of the £3,160 set to be given away on Thursday.

Social media users who comment on the Facebook page or tweet @TNLUK with the hashtag #HookMeADuck along with the colour of the duck they would like hooked, can win prizes ranging from between £10 to £100.

Martyn Baxter, head of instants at Camelot, said: “The live-streamed real-time nature of ‘Play With Us’ is designed to bring to life the excitement and instant gratification of playing Instant Win Games and Scratchcards.

“Drawing upon the successes of previous activity, such as ‘Draw My Win’ in October, we know that IWG players who follow The National Lottery on Facebook and Twitter really enjoy the interactive element of our social media activity, and so we’re pleased to reward them for their support by giving them a further opportunity to get involved once again.”

IProspect and Vizeum planned and activated the campaign, which follows last Thursday’s (14 April) social media scratchcard activity which received 33,000 entries and saw £2,600 in cash given to 100 entrants.
