Greater Manchester Police have displayed their softer side by compiling a spoof version of a recent Cadbury advert in aid of local charity Manchester Forever.

Starring chief constable Sir Peter Fahy and a fake beard the Gangnam style video depicts the Force commander being put on hold by a call centre before launching into a singing and dancing routine with colleagues as he is overcome by the infectious beats of the piped music.

Commenting on his acting debut Fahy said: “Forever Manchester is a fantastic local charity which has supported over 20,000 local community projects with grants to help volunteers.'

“This tongue in cheek video is just one way of raising the profile of this worthwhile charity and it’s nice to show everyone that we don’t like to take ourselves too seriously.”

Nick Massey DL, chief executive for Forever Manchester, added: “We’re happy that the force is with us.”
