Cancer Research UK has inked a sponsorship deal with Edwardian Group London, parent company of Radisson Blu Edwardian and the Mayfair hotel, that will see the hospitality company become an official corporate fundraising partner for the next three years.

Funds raised via the partnership will go towards the £100m needed for biomedical research centre the Francis Crick Institute, which is due to open in 2016.

The Edwardian Group London will help raise the money via a mixture of sources, including donations added to every hotel bill (which guests may opt out from) and by hosting fundraising and in-room giving.

Inderneel Singh, managing director of The May Fair Hotel, said: "We consider ourselves to be an integral part of London with the vast majority of our properties in the capital, so to support such a pioneering initiative through our partnership with Cancer Research UK supports our vision to remain innovative and forward-thinking.”

Each hotel within the group's portfolio will also have the opportunity to take part in fundraising activities including this year's London Marathon.
