Global YouTube stars Dan Howell and Phil Lester have created what they claim is an “internet breaking” to promote their upcoming book.

Titled “The Amazing Book is Not on Fire”, the book gives fans an unprecedented glimpse into the lives of popular YouTubers Dan Howell (danisnotonfire) and Phil Lester (amazingphil). The tome arrives later this year (8 October) and is available to pre-order now from Amazon.

A video, created by agency Ralph, cleverly chaffs against the low-fi style of the duo’s videos by opting for a more bombastic tone. Set to moody music, the film centres on a package that is delivered to a long-time fan of Dan and Phil, who treasures meeting them both years earlier. Neither the viewer nor the fan know the contents of the package until the end of the film when it's revealed to be a copy of the book.

The video is littered with hidden messages that dedicated fans will be able to spot. Within its first 20 hours the film sparked over 650,000 views and over 18,000 comments. The book has also shot to number one on the Amazon.co.uk new release list.

The book arrives in the same year as the YouTubers tour that will see them take their online double act on the road.

The presenters started as DJs on BBC Radio One before becoming successful vloggers with separate shows. They join the ever-expanding list of YouTubers to release books that includes Zoella, Greg Helbig and Neafcy.
