The concept of Reddit’s April Fool’s prank is simple: there’s a button and a timer, and the button must be pressed by a user before the clock runs out.

Two days later, the timer, not unlike the plot of ‘Lost,’ is still running and still nobody knows why they’re pressing the button. What happens when the timer runs out? Is it good? Is it bad? Is it anything? These questions remained unanswered.

One user was so moved by the button that he wrote a song about it.

“I pushed the button the moment I saw it, and I have no regrets.

You can dive into life or be afraid of getting wet,” he wrote.

The button displays the number of participants currently in the ‘game.’ Recently, there have been more than 550,000 participants at any given time.
