Madonna vs. Instagram: Pop star battles platform’s community standards

Madonna has raged war with Instagram over its community standards after the photo-sharing platform removed a topless picture of the pop star.

In response, she posted a nude photo of herself with only her nipples censored.

“Why is it ok to show ass but not breasts? Drowning in the hypocrisy of social media,” the 56-year-old wrote beneath the picture.

Just last week, another user questioned the platform’s screening policy after a picture of a woman lying in bed with blood-spotted sweatpants was removed twice, indicating that menstruation was indecent.

Critics of the app’s screening policy often accuse it of being hypocritical, as it often permits young, fit, women to post pictures of themselves wearing little to no clothing.

So far, Madonna’s post has received almost 65,000 likes.
