Integrated marketing agency Southpaw is to open its first London office to support growing client demand for branded content services.

The new office in Great Titchfield Street will be home to a team of content strategists, producers and directors, delivering content for a client list including Honda, PZ Cussons and SABMiller. The first project from the new division is to be an emotive film for PZ Cussons beauty brand The Sanctuary, directed by Bafta award-winning director Susanna White.

Southpaw managing director Tom Poynter said: “Over the past twelve months, we’ve seen increasing demand for high end content as well as reactive work that addresses the ‘here and now’ of a campaign. TV commercials and 3D virtual reality experiences to social media content and brand films, the lines have become blurred across these disciplines and we are poised to creatively react and deliver. Content services are now the fastest growing element of our full service capability and coupled with our media offering means we can offer the full suite of services for content generation, activation and analytics. London has always been part of our growth strategy, so launching a content business on the doorstep of Soho is where we wanted to be, to make a stand and be visible.”

Poynter and Southpaw’s creative directors Craig Roderick and Glenn Smith will form the management team while day-to-day operations will be handled by director, Matt Fretwell, and executive producer, Amos Usiskin. Fretwell said: “Working as a totally integrated part of the creative and delivery process means it’s like having a direct line between the director and client, a very valuable and time-saving way of working.”

Southpaw is headquartered in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
