Boris Johnson lands on Twitter to broaden social media presence during general election push
The mayor of London Boris Johnson has joined Twitter as he looks to harness social media in his push to win the Uxbridge and South Ruislip seat for the Conservative party in the 2015 general election.
Johnson promised to be “live and direct” with his followers, hinting at a level of engagement he has previously missed out on when tweeting from the official “@MayorofLondon” account.
Since launching the account on Monday, with a total of three tweets to his name, Johnson has already acquired a total of 12.1k followers at the time of publication.
