Paul Mitchell, formerly industry manager at Google UK, has joined collaborative marketing agency trnd as joint UK MD, with overall responsibility for business development.

trnd has nine offices across Europe covering 16 markets and formally launched into the UK in February 2015. It employs more than 200 people, managing more than 650 collaborative marketing campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world, including P&G, Unilever, Henkel, Philips, Samsung and L’Oréal.

Mitchell was with Google UK for eight years, developing client and partner relationships with some of the largest online advertisers in the UK, including Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse. Before joining Google, he was a category manager for lastminute.com.

He will work closely with Rebekah Mackay-Miller, who has also been appointed joint MD. Mackay-Miller has been with trnd since 2010, most recently as head of client services, UK.

Mitchell said: “It’s an exciting time to join trnd, as it begins a period of rapid growth in the UK. We’ve been operating in the UK for a few years, but as a white label service. We are now opening up the market, and bringing the weight of our experience in Europe to the UK.”

trnd offers collaborative marketing services with a community of more than 1.7 million consumers across Europe enabling brands to gain feedback and insight about their products, at scale, which can be used in research and development, co-creation of products and to spread word-of-mouth (WOM).
