Forget taxes and immigration Shreddies has set out to solve the problems that really matter with the help of its Knitting Nanas.

In the run-up to the General Election, Shreddies Knitting Nanas are setting out to mend the little things that really affect the lives of Britons, from oversharing Facebook friends to commuters eating smelly food on the train and the husband who leaves the toilet set up.

For the campaign launch the Nanas hit the road asking people to submit their gripes, finding the little problems they could fix. Armed with this information and a rallying cry Shreddies will spread the word with an online film, amplified through social media channels, targeted out of home, and on pack.

Sam Carter of Cereal Partners, the makers of Nestlé Breakfast Cereals, commented: “With all the serious election issues dominating the news, our Nana State is here to bring a bit of fun. Politicians are likely to be arguing the big issues; we think that the Knitting Nanas can help with the little day to day things that really affect our lives. Britain really needs a Nana State.”

During the campaign, the Nanas are turning their social media channels over to the public, allowing fans to share their issues, with the Nanas then lobbying any individuals mentioned to get them to change their ways.
