Microsoft introduces unified mobile and web app service
Microsoft has unveiled a new cloud-based app service that unifies the tools needed for the development of web and mobile apps.
Azure App Service introduces a range of developer friendly functions in accordance with Microsoft’s ‘mobile first, cloud first’ mantra to automate business processes across cloud services.
Built from the bones of existing services such as Azure Websites, Mobile Services and Biztalk Services the new platform will be made available automatically to existing subscribers, who will be migrated across for the same price.
Speaking to tech Crunch Omar Khan, Microsoft’s Azure director, said: “We believe that unifying this experience makes app development much simpler.”
The enhanced service is being targeted at developers seeking to build applications for enterprise clients as well as developers targeting consumers directly.
