American Greetings has introduced ‘ThankList,’ a digital experience and social effort that allows users to create a video or message online to thank all of the people who have had a positive impact on their lives.

To roll out the movement, the greeting card company paired with Oscar-winning documentarian Barbara Kopple and production company Nonfiction Unlimited to produce five short films featuring people who have created and fulfilled their ThankLists.

At an event in New York City on March 24, the company paired with The Huffington Post to host a private screening of the videos. A panel discussion afterwards included actress Elizabeth Banks and author and co-founder of The Huffington Post Arianna Huffington.

John Beeder, president and chief operating officer at American Greetings, said: “Creating more meaningful connections between people isn’t simply something we believe in – it’s something we are actively doing, and ThankList is the perfect way to demonstrate that practicing gratitude is easy and impactful.”

Users can create their personalized ThankList messages through Facebook. The company states on its website that “this is strictly so we can personalize your experience,” adding that it will not spam, post, or share details.
