Betfair has launched an app touted to display its general election predictions in real time across desktop, iOS and Android.

The Betfair Predicts app, which was built by digital agency Grand Parade, will provide users with real time betting odds relating to the election straight from the Betfair Exchange. The data includes who will be the next prime minister, which party will take the most seats and more.

The app will be collated from polls, Twitter sentiment and exclusive Betfair insight and will be displayed in visually appealing means such as an interactive constituency map.

Alex Deacon, director of innovation for Betfair, said: “As a company rooted in technology and innovation, we’re excited to bring our new political prediction app, Betfair Predicts, to anyone with an interest in understanding how the general election will unfold.

“Betfair has always offered a transparent way of tracking the outcome of political events, but this app brings these predictions to life in an engaging and simple way.”

James Midmer, political spokesperson for Betfair, added: “This is the tightest election for years and people will want as much insight as they can get.

“Betting markets have an impressive track record of predicting outcomes and Betfair is offering its most comprehensive range of markets ever for those looking to get involved.”

Grand Parade has worked with Betfair on such digital products since 2009.
