Pacific Life Insurance Company has launched ‘Swell,’ a research company that creates cause-driven investment models that people can use to earn returns for both themselves and a cause of their choice.

The company is founded on “the belief that you can do well for yourself and do good for those in need at the same time.”

Creative agency 180LA designed swellinvesting.com, branding and creative assets, and social media. The agency also created a series of images and animations that represent turning money into something.

Currently, there are four cause-based investment models available through Motif Investing: ‘Improve Education’, ‘Fight Cancer’, ‘End Poverty’, and ‘Uphold Human Rights’. More are being developed.

Swell Investing is not a financial services firm but is backed by Pacific Life Insurance Company.

When someone invests or rebalances their investment model, Swell receives a minimum royalty of $1 from Motif Investing. From that revenue, Swell gives 20 cents out of every $1 to causes that their models support from their own money.

These causes include Jumpstart for Young Children, Inc., The American Association of People with Disabilities, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
