Dire Straits lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter Mark Knopfler is partnering with Talenthouse, a creative company that connects creators with brands and icons, to offer film and video directors the opportunity to create a music video for Knopfler’s new track, “Wherever I Go.”

He is looking for a music video or lyric video that can be shot, animated, or short film.

The artist selected, judged by a panel including Virgin EMI, will receive $4,000 with their work becoming the official video for Knopfler’s latest track.

It will be promoted across VEVO and Virgin EMI’s social media channels.

Michael Rivalland, senior marketing manager at Virgin EMI, said: “This is the first time Mark has ever done anything like this. Traditionally he is a private person but he’s allowing music out there before the release of Tracker to encourage a new generation of creatives to interpret and create from his work.”

Artists have until 23 March 2015 at 6 pm GMT to submit their ideas. “Wherever I Go” is from his upcoming album, “Tracker.”
