Whirlpool, a leading global manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, has appointed digital agency Lab to help develop and promote the company’s Maytag brand online.

Already well-known in the USA, Whirlpool is now introducing the Maytag brand to a growing UK audience of quality-conscious home appliance buyers. Lab’s brief covers cover website re-design and development, ongoing consultancy and involvement in all digital marketing channels.

Jennifer Spragg, brand and digital marketing manager at Whirlpool, said, “Maytag has such an amazing heritage to draw upon. We’re really looking forward to introducing the brand to new customers and moving to a digital first strategy will really help us to do that.”

Sarah-Jane Walker, client account director at Lab, said: “Whirlpool is an incredibly innovative company who were one of the first home appliance manufacturers to embrace digital and sell direct online, so we’re looking forward to working together.”

Lab was recently named one of the Top 50 digital agencies outside London by The Drum. Clients include The Guardian, Oakhouse Foods, Aon, Live Nation, the Department of Health and Reed Learning.
