BBDO Worldwide has announced changes to its regional management structure with Chris Thomas set to become chief executive of Americas, Jean-Paul Burge as chairman and chief executive of BBDO Asia and Dani Richa, chairman and chief executive of BBDO Middle East and North Africa also taking on responsibility for the rest of Africa.

Chris Thomas, chief executive, BBDO Americas

Thomas, currently chief executive of Asia, Middle East and Africa, will take on responsibility for the 21 BBDO agencies across the US, Canada and Latin America, although he will remain chairman of I&S BBDO Japan and chairman of Proximity Worldwide.

Taking over from Thomas in Asia will be Burge, who was previously president of Southeast Asia and chief executive of BBDO Singapore. Richa will take on much of Thomas’ responsibilities in Africa too.

“These changes demonstrate the benefits of our commitment to strong succession planning and will further strengthen the leadership team that will help me deliver our goal of the world’s best work, year after year, and through that, growth for the next five years…and beyond,” said BBDO Worldwide chief executive, Andrew Robertson.

Meanwhile, Carol Potter, president and chief executive in Greater China, will depart, with the current management team stepping up, which will include managing director Tza Kiat Tan become chief executive, Wai Foong Leong take on the role of chairman and chief creative officer and Hans Lopez-Vito becoming chief strategy officer.
