Fox News has finally conceded that Bill O’Reilly may have fabricated claims about being present during bombings in Ireland and murders in El Salvador, after being questioned by The Washington Post.

Rather, they said, he saw photographs of the murders and bombings.

However, this account is much different from the one O’Reilly told in his book, Keep it Pithy, where he wrote, “I’ve seen soldiers gun down unarmed civilians in Latin America, Irish terrorists kill and maim their fellow citizens in Belfast with bombs.”

O’Reilly also made several mentions of being at the events during the broadcast of his television show, The O’Reilly Factor.

Still, while Fox has admitted to the falsifications, O’Reilly hasn’t, calling the accusations against him, “total bullshit,” and “disgusting” earlier this month.

This is the second time a major US news personality has come under fire this year, after NBC anchor Brian Williams was accused of falsifying his reporting.
