Fearne Cotton to leave Radio 1 after 10 years
Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton has announced her decision to leave the station after 10 years.
Writing on her official website Cotton said it was time for a "new chapter" and revealed that she was pregnant with her second child.
"I have had the most incredible decade broadcasting on Radio 1, meeting wonderful people, helping break artists and watching live music from the world's best," she said.
"I will leave with the best memories and many great friends."
Cotton currently presents Radio 1's mid-morning show, which includes the Live Lounge. The station has confirmed that Official Chart Show host Clara Amfo will take over the slot.
Controller of BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, Ben Jones, said Radio 1 was "delighted" for Cotton and her husband Jesse Wood and added: "Clara is going to be brilliant on the show. Her warmth, her enthusiasm, her friendliness on air. She's really slick as a presenter."
Cotton's last show will air on 22 May, with Radio 1's Big Weekend to be her last Radio 1 event.
The news follows Zane Lowe's decision to leave Radio 1 earlier in the year for iTunes.
