Strictly Come Dancing contestant and singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has been revealed as the face of Dulux's Colour of the Year campaign, marking the 12th year of the annual trend forecast.

Following research from a 20-strong panel of global colour and trend experts, this year's winning colour, Copper Blush, is celebrated in a below-the-line campaign comprising a film and series of images starring Ellis-Bextor, who also recorded the voiceover for the spot.

The film begins with the singer in a dark teal coloured room, inspired by last year's Colour of the Year, before copper sunlight begins to seep through the curtains to reflect the new colour.

Rebecca Williamson, Dulux senior colour, design and content manager, commented: "The beautifully balanced and dynamic shade of 'Copper Blush' suits Sophie's personality and style effortlessly. Our Colour of the Year breathes warmth into life and Sophie is the perfect choice to showcase the power of colour in this captivating shoot."

Ellis-Bextor is the third celebrity to front the Dulux campaign following Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon and Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts.
