Betfair made an attempt to improve London commuters’ Friday the 13th by sending a fleet of rally cars to ferry them around.

The online betting company sent the cars along the bus routes with the longest average waiting times. The worst offenders were the RV1 from Covent Garden to Tower Gateway, followed by the 205, 274, 10 and 188.

Betfair spokesperson, Naomi Totten, said: “Friday 13th is well known for being an unlucky day, but many commuters fear the curse may strike at any moment.

“When this was combined with the average waiting times many people face on bus routes all around London we couldn’t help but step in and bring a slice of luck to travellers with the horse-driven Betfair rally cars that feature in our new brand advert.”
