The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has named a slew of new senior-level leaders, including David Morris the new chairman of the board of directors, David J. Moore the new chair for the tech lab board of directors, and a new senior vice president, Michael Theodore.

Morris is also the chief revenue officer (CRO) of CBS Interactive. He succeeded Vivek Shah, who is the CEO of Ziff Davis, Inc.

“Working closely with the IAB over the past year has reinforced my long held belief in the industry’s ability to come together to address concerns and identify new opportunities,” said Shah.

“Marketer demand for interactive advertising has never been stronger with tens of billions being invested in digital. I am confident that David Morris has the deep knowledge and expertise to ensure that IAB and the industry at-large can build on that momentum, and foster even greater growth for digital’s tomorrow.”

Morris said he was keen to get started as chief.

“I look forward to taking on this new position, coalescing members around critical issues involving rapidly changing technologies, self-regulation and public policy, the shift in measurement and transactional currency, and much more,” he said.

“I’m equally committed to keeping IAB members at the forefront of innovation, supporting the development of the types of new standards, technologies, and best practices that will allow interactive advertising to flourish on a global scale.”

David J. Moore, the IAB’s new chairman for its technology lab board of directors also serves as president of WPP and chairman of Xaxis. Moore’s previous. 15-year-stint on the IAB board of directors has primed him for this position.

“This industry requires strong global tech standards and solutions if we’re going to be able to meet the demands of today’s marketers,” said Moore.

“The IAB Tech Lab is going to play a critical part in ensuring that we have the tools necessary to succeed on that front. Bringing together disparate stakeholders from around the world to work on unified tech specs and best practices will go a long a way in moving the digital ecosystem forward for all of us,” he added.

Michael Theodore who was just promoted to senior vice president previously served as the head of the IAB education foundation.

“Michael has been the guiding force behind the success of the IAB certification programs. With more than 5,000 digital ad sales and operations professionals in the program it is rapidly becoming the most recognized credential in our industry,” said Patrick Dolan, IAB’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.

“Recently, his role expanded to take on management of the IAB Education Foundation, building an organization that will focus on improving diversity and the reducing the talent gap in our industry through education and certification.”

The IAB is currently hosting its Annual Leadership Meeting in Phoenix, AZ.
