Founded hires ex-Y&R director Maria McHugh as planning partner
Founded has appointed ex-Y&R New York director Maria McHugh to its team as planning partner, where she will work across the agency’s growing client base and new business.
Having previously held the post of head of planning at both Y&R New York and Fallon NY, McHugh returned to the UK in 2011 and has since been consulting on an independent basis for clients and agencies alike.
Commenting on the move she said: "There are not many agencies that could tempt me to jump on board but I'm really excited to be joining a young agency with such a compelling proposition.
"This is a group of entrepreneurial upstarts who are looking to move people towards brands in exciting new ways."
She first collaborated with Founded at the start of 2014, helping it to win the P&O Cruises account and steer the brand's repositioning and new campaign.
Richard Perry, founding partner at the London-based creative shop said that McHugh's appointment has made the agency "whole", adding “everyone at Founded loves Maria. Her ability to nail the insight and support brilliant creative is just superb."
