Mars UK is encouraging UK students to 'tweet for treats' as its Tweetshop recruitment and engagement programme hits University campuses across the country, for a third successive year.

This year the FMCG giant will visit seven Universities in a bid to encourage students to apply to Mars' graduate scheme as well as visiting the Tweetshop to win prizes.

When visiting the shop students will be asked to work together in pairs – one will take on a dance-mat challenge to drive the speed of a conveyor belt of products, while the other will have to remember the products that pass by to be in with a chance of winning.

Students will also be encouraged to swap tweets using the #marstweetshop hashtag, for codes to unlock prizes from a bespoke vending machine of Mars products.

The idea behind the initiative is to drive social media engagement amongst new graduate talent through the @MarsGradsUK Twitter handle and Facebook page.

Andrew Sharp, graduate talent manager, Mars UK said: “Now in its third year, our unique Tweetshop is proving a real success as an innovative way to engage students with our brands, our culture and the range of career opportunities we have on offer.

"Mars has a very open, collaborative and creative approach, so we’re drawing upon those skills through the TeamTweetshop concept extension."

The on-campus activity will take place at Nottingham, Birmingham, Exeter, Leeds, Manchester, London School of Economics and Bath from today (3 February) onwards.

Prizes for the winning pair who remember the most products that pass by on the conveyor belt stand to win a trip to New York.
