The 2015 Super Bowl is just days away, and the advertising carnival already in full force, with major brands gearing up for another multimillion dollar bonanza. We speak to some of America's top creatives for their favourite Super Bowl adverts from over the years. Dave Kwasnick, creative director of Gatesman+Dave talks about herding cats.

“This man right here is my great grandfather. He’s the first cat herder in my family.”

Huh?

So started “Herding Cats” for Electronic Data Systems. What could have been a spread sheet-dull yawner, instead showed cowpokes doing the impossible – herding 10,000 pissed off tabbies. The cinematography was worthy of a John Ford western. Flourishes like watching a grizzled cowboy balling twine were inspired. And the payoff – we get your info, ideas and technology moving in the same direction – brought it all home.

When it aired in 2000, I was freakin’ green with envy. The color hasn’t faded since then.
