McDonald’s is set to accept some ‘lovin’ for free food as part of its Super Bowl marketing campaign.

The latest advert, released ahead of the big game, promotes that from 2 February, the international burger chain will accept statements of affection from selected customers to pay for their food, through until 14 February.

Each store will only be allowed to offer the prize to 100 winners however between 6am and 6pm each day.

Meanwhile, PR Week has reported that the company’s European communications director, Sam Fulton, has left to join Unilever as director of communications.

The news follows the stepping down of chief executive Don Thompson after two-and-a-half years to be replaced by its marketing chief Steve Easterbrook in March.
