WPP's Mark Read to replace Daniel Morel as CEO of Wunderman

Mark Read, chief executive (CEO) of WPP Digital, has taken on the role of leading Wunderman which will also see him step down from the parent network’s board.

Taking on the role from 1 February, Read will succeed Daniel Morel as Global CEO of Wunderman. Morel will become a non-executive director of the agency.

Read will also continue his executive responsibilities with WPP as well, it was revealed.

After 14 highly successful years, he has decided it is the right time to pass the torch. As CEO of WPP Digital, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge in digital technology and its application to marketing services, as well as strong links with our new media partners.”

Read added: “Wunderman is extremely well-positioned to help clients succeed in a marketing world being reshaped by companies including Google, Facebook, Twitter and Tencent. It can bring clients a powerful combination of creativity, data and technology, allowing them to build much more personal connections with their customers and drive business results. He was appointed a director of WPP in 2005 having rejoined the network in 2002.
