BBC & ITV call PM’s bluff with Greens, SNP & Plaid Cymru debate offer
Prime Minister David Cameron’s vow to veto any televised general election debates which did not include the Green party has been answered by the BBC and ITV who have pledged to include the Greens as well as Scottish and Welsh nationalists.
The latest proposal would see the three parties represented alongside the Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats and UKIP – but elicited a stern rebuke from Northern Ireland’s DUP, which has been left out of current plans.

A bid by Channel 4 and Sky News to screen a straight face-off between the two main challengers to be Britain’s next leader; Cameron and Ed Milliband, remains on the table as before.
Cameron is said to be assessing the latest proposals before committing to them but faces immense pressure to do so, even if it’s electorally advantageous for the smaller parties who will be given a rare opportunity to share the prime time limelight.
