Centaur hires Telegraph's former group chief commercial officer Steve McLaughlin

Centaur Media has appointed former Telegraph Media Group chief commercial officer, Steve McLaughlin as its group commercial director.

The publisher of Design Week and Marketing Week, claimed that it expected to meet market expectations and report an underlying revenue increase of three per cent in its next trading update.

As of 31 December, its net debt was £14.7m, while adjusted operating margins were predicted to rise by around 15 per cent.

Andria Vidler, chief executive, commented: "We are pleased to have delivered a strong performance in the second half of 2014, and are encouraged by the outlook for 2015.

"Having restructured the group, the business feels reinvigorated and positive about the year ahead. The consolidation of these changes alongside a sharper and more innovative focus on our markets will underpin further growth in both revenues and margins".

McLaughlin, who took up his new role at Centaur earlier this month, joined ICS:EdTech Sector, where he had held the role of chief executive since April 2013.
