Two Sun journalists cleared over corrupting public officials
Two Sun journalists have been cleared of charges of paying public officials for stories.
Picture editor John Edwards and former reporter John Troup walked free from Kingston crown court yesterday after being acquitted of conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office.
Former managing editor Graham Dudman and ex-deputy news editor Ben O'Driscoll were also cleared of some charges.
The jury will continue deliberating over other counts facing O'Driscoll and Dudman and two other men when the trial resumes next week.
The Sun's former head of news Chris Pharo still faces three charges of conspiring to commit misconduct in a public office.
The three-month trial will resume on Monday.
