We Are Social expands into San Francisco with Old Navy account

Old Navy, the clothing and accessories retailer owned by Gap, has appointed We Are Social, which has expanded to open a new office in San Francisco to handle west coast clients.

The agency's US managing director, Leila Thabet (pictured) will initially be charged with heading up the office, splitting her time with New York during the recruitment of a senior leadership team.

“We’ve experienced strong demand for social strategy and creative from leading brands, and opening the office in San Francisco is the next step in helping us meet client needs,” said Thabet. “This expansion demonstrates how our approach to putting social thinking at the center of marketing resonates with brands, and why We Are Social has been successful both here and throughout our growing network of offices around the world.”

Robin Grant, global managing director, We Are Social, added: “As the US becomes an increasingly important market for us, it made strategic sense to widen our footprint with a West Coast base. This is another big step in our expansion, broadening our global reach even further to benefit our growing client base.”

Jen Bader, group account director in New York has relocated to manage the growth of the office and the agency's existing client base in San Francisco.
