Virgin Holidays has teamed with hypnotist Paul McKenna to run a Holiday Hypnosis service for hungover shoppers, to give consumers the feel of a two-week holiday in 20 minutes.

McKenna delivered the bespoke one-on-one sessions in a ‘hypno–pod’ at House of Fraser Bluewater to leave shoppers with the experience of a relaxing holiday after the excess of the festive period as they headed back to work.

The hypnotist said he was able to stimulate the feeling a person gets when the brain releases endorphins, which are the natural feel-good hormones associated with a holiday.

Mark Anderson, managing director at Virgin Holidays commented: “This experience could not come at a better time for the great British public. Nothing beats the feeling of an amazing holiday, and we think they have the right to flaunt it even in the dark depths of January before they get the real thing later in the year.”

In December Virgin Holidays introduced Google Cardboard technology in its retail stores alongside an online Disney MyMagic+ tool to let customers test out holidays before making a purchase.
