Amazon has announced that 2014 was a record-breaking year for its third-party sellers with the vendors shifting over two billion goods worldwide.

2014 was a bustling year for Amazon's third party sellers

The e-commerce giant's partners moved two billion products, accounting for 40 per cent of Amazon sales. The vendors were located in over 100 countries, selling goods to consumers in over 185 nations.

Peter Faricy, vice president for Amazon Marketplace, said: “It’s been a record-setting year for selling on Amazon. We’re seeing strong growth from sellers listing their items across our global marketplaces. In fact, there are now more than a billion offers for customers to browse from sellers who are listing items for sale outside their home country.

“The growth of mobile and the introduction of the Amazon Seller App have also been a big win for sellers this year. Sellers are constantly telling us they value the flexibility of managing their businesses on-the-go from their tablets and mobile devices.”

Amazon also saw a 250 per cent growth of holiday deals during the 2014 festive period. On Cyber Monday alone, the firm launched new promotional deals every ten minutes.
