'The Boss' by James Brown is the most popular song in an ad this week, claiming the first number one spot of the year in The Drum's Shazam chart.

The song appears in Gordon's new 'Gordon The Boar' spot, which features the brand's new hog mascot dancing around a modern apartment before pouring himself a gin and tonic.

Axwell & Ingrosso take second place with 'Something New' for Beats.

The track provides the score to the Apple-owned brand's #SoloSelfie campaign, fronted by an array of stars including Nicki Minaj and Serena Williams.

And HSBC comes in at number three this week with 'Grow Till Tall' by Sigur Rós frontman Jonsi.

The flighty number is the score to HSBC's global 'Pink Ladies' campaign, a touching tale about an ambitious hairdresser designed to tap into the aspirations of the bank's younger consumers.

The charts are based on the number of times each ad has been Shazamed over the past week using music identification app Shazam.
