Big Brother named 2014’s most complained about television show
Big Brother has gained an unwelcome accolade from media watchdog Ofcom after it labelled the reality television show as Britain’s most complained about television show.
The domestic antics of cast members this year drew 3,784 complaints from viewers; predominantly in relation to this year’s winner of the programme, Helen Wood, and her treatment of fellow housemates.
A famous faces spin-off show, Celebrity Big Brother, was little better behaved earning 1,874 complaints the bulk of which centred on Hollywood actor Gary Busey – who also went on to win the show.
Other programmes to earn a top 10 ranking were controversial documentaries charting animal cruelty and benefits claimants, garnering 1,805 and 967 complaints respectively.
