News UK Commercial has appointed Opera Media’s Chris Amor to the role of trading director to help sell to advertisers its integrated approach to targeting readers.

In his new role Amor, who previously served as print, radio and out of home trading director at Opera Media, will report to commercial director Dominic Carter and will begin the role early next year.

Carter commented: “Chris’ extensive agency experience working with major brands across all types of media within an important network will be a great asset to News UK Commercial.

“He has a strong understanding of our brands and as the media landscape continues to evolve he will play a key role in helping advertisers and customers understand our one audience sales proposition. I am really looking forward to having him join the team.”

Last month News UK’s chief marketing officer Chris Duncan branded Facebook's proposed mobile publishing offer "terrifying" for those publishers who depend on the social media site to drive web traffic.
