An email thread in which Oscar-winning director Scott Rudin called Angelina Jolie, among other things, a “minimally talented spoiled brat,” has been leaked as a result of the Sony Pictures server breach.

Angelina Jolie as Maleficent

Due to the system-wide infiltration perpetrated by hacking collective Guardians of Peace (GoP) many of Sony Pictures’ internal emails have seen the light of day – with the intruders using their access to air the company’s dirty laundry.

Leaked was a heated conversation between company co-chairperson Amy Pascal and Scott Rudin, the director of ‘No Country for Old Men’, ‘the Social Network’ and ‘The Truman Show’. In the emails, the pair argued over David Fincher’s proposed role as the director of a Steve Jobs biopic.

According to the correspondence, first published by Gawker, Angelina Jolie instead sought Fincher to direct a Cleopatra movie she was to star in; this however clashed with Fincher’s commitment to the Steve Jobs biopic which was later snapped up by Universal Pictures.

When informed of Jolie’s demand for David Fincher, Rudin said: “She’ll survive it. I don’t want to waste my time on this.”

Next, he informed Pascal: “YOU BETTER SHUT ANGIE DOWN BEFORE SHE MAKES IT VERY HARD FOR DAVID TO DO JOBS.”

Later in the conversation, Rudin added: “There is no movie of Cleopatra to be made (and how that is a bad thing given the insanity and rampaging spoiled ego of this woman and the cost of the movie is beyond me)… I have zero appetite for the indulgence of spoiled brats and I will tell her this myself if you don’t.”

In a final dispatch, Rudin concluded: “I have no desire to be making a movie with her, or anybody, that she runs and that we don't. She's a camp event and a celebrity and that's all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming. We will end up being the laughing stock of our industry and we will deserve it, which is so clearly where this is headed that I cannot believe we are still wasting our time with it.”

Sony has not confirmed the authenticity of the emails.

This comes after the phone numbers of Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts were also leaked from Sony Pictures earlier this week.
