Line, the Japanese mobile messaging app is set to go global with a payment service set to launch soon.

The Line Pay app allows users to pay for their goods in registered stores, as well as being able to transfer money without needing account numbers (paym) and for two people to split the cost of something between them.

People will be able to register their credit card online, and will also be able to buy content through the Line store, such as stickers.

TouchID is used on the iOS version of the app in order to allow for secure access.

The Line app, linked to Line Pay, is similar to Whatsapp in that it allows free messages to be sent. It also allows users to make free phonecalls.
