Lambrini has kicked off a review of its creative account, The Drum has learned.

At least three agencies - McCann, BJL and Karmarama - are understood to be part of the pitch process, which is nearing its final stages.

McCann Manchester already handles PR and social for Lambrini and its parent company Halewood, which counts Crabbie's Ginger Beer and Tsingtao beer among its brands.

BJL has also previously worked with the brand, winning the creative account in 2008. It was behind the ‘I am what I am’ campaign which ran in 2010 and again in 2012.

Lambrini’s most recent activity – ‘Big Night In’ – came from Ponderosa Agency but was banned by the ASA earlier this year for implying that alcohol was necessary for a good time.

The client declined to comment, while the agencies were unavailable for comment at the time of this article's publication.
