D&AD announces jury foremen for 2015 Professional Awards with judges from Apple, Google Creative Lab and more

D&AD has confirmed 39 new judges for the 2015 Professional Awards across 25 categories with Chiara Ferrari, Lisa Desforges and David Pearson selected to lead design juries.

This year judges will award work at four levels with Wood Pencil replacing In Book and Graphite Pencil replacing Nomination awards.

A new category has also been introduced for Branded Content and Entertainment which will be judged by a stand-alone jury. The White Pencil – Creativity for Good category will also no distinguish between work for NGOs and brands in a bid to encourage more entries from big business.

To celebrate those pushing the boundaries of technology, innovation sub-categories have been added to the Packaging Design, Product Design and Radio Advertising categories with innovation in media recognised through the revamped Integrated and Innovative Media category.

TV & Cinema Advertising has been renamed as Film Advertising with a Tactical sub-category included for film advertising. An additional sub-category Casting for Film Advertising has been introduced within Film Advertising Crafts and there are two sub-categories introduced within Music Videos, Direction and Production Design,

After a remarkable 2014, we’re all looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings in the field of creative excellence.”

The jury foremen announced are as follows:

  • Chiara Ferrari, interior designer at Chiara Ferrari Studio, Spatial Design
  • Daljit Singh, executive creative director at Happiness, Digital Design
  • David Pearson, design director at David Pearson Design, Book Design
  • Eike Konig, owner/creative director at Hort, Graphic Design
  • Harriet Devoy, creative director at Apple Europe, Branding
  • Leigh Chandler, design director at Vault49, Crafts for Design
  • Lisa Desforges, copywriter and creative strategist, Writing for Design
  • Matt Willey, designer, Magazine and Newspaper Design
  • Morten Warren, founder and chief executive at Native Design, Product Design
  • Natalie Chung, creative partner at Pearlfisher, Packaging Design

Saatchi & Saatchi London creative partner, Kate Stanners,is to lead this year’s Radio Advertising jury with Steve Vranakis, executive creative director at Google Creative Lab heading up the White Pencil – Creativity for Good category.

The D&AD Awards are open for entry with the eligibility period for the 2015 Awards extended to include work that ran from 1 January 2014 through to 28 February 2015.
