Young Innovator Nominee: Anthony Howard, Atlas 12

December 1, 2014 | 2 min read

Anthony Howard

Current gig: web developer, Atlas 12

Why he is nominated: Born and raised in Newark New Jersey; urban communities are sometimes distractions for talented minds and people. I have been working in retail/food employment at a mall outlet since 2011. Always having an entrepreneur's mindset, I always felt that my life employment thus far was not specifically my calling. In so little time I taught myself how to code, and obtained enough skillful knowledge to teach myself HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Php. I love Php and is the primary language I chose to explore. I am currently working on a project known as Project Atlas, and I hope that someday it will help many people invest more into themselves and to awaken their own max potentials. In 2013 I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and was born with a rare condition known as lymphoedema which is a vascular condition that affected one of my legs at birth. My current employment in fast food makes it real difficult sometimes but I am known to endure all that comes my way. Not ever knowing when to quit, I hope to someday be able to help many others get closer to their dreams, as people has helped me get closer to mine over the years.
