The Post Office has appointed DLKW Lowe its creative account following a competitive review in which it competed against Ogilvy, Engine and WCRS.

Dare won the business in 2009, but was unable to repitch after being rejected for the Government roster. The Post Office has since worked with FCB Inferno - most recently on its Christmas ad campaign.

FCB pitched for the account but was knocked out before the final round. It continues to handle The Post Office's digital and direct mail work, however this contract is set to expire in 2015.

Pitching agencies had initially been briefed for an integrated account when the process kicked off at the beginning of the year.

However, The Drum understands that following the appointment of chief marketing officer Peter Markey in April, they were told the business would be won or lost on the advert idea.

When Dare won the account it was valued at circa £12m, however The Drum understands it is now worth more.

The first work from the agency is expected in early 2015.

The Post Office declined to comment on the agency win.
