Airbnb has rolled out a new global online campaign which looks to better explain the history and the concept behind the accommodation booking site.

The Welcome to Airbnb video, produced by its APAC marketing team, was shot in one take in a warehouse in Auckland, New Zealand, and takes the viewer on a train journey through a handmade world of houses, trees, a 3D printed castle and 96 figurines of Airbnb guests and accommodation owners.

Jonathan Mildenhall, Airbnb chief marketing officer commented: “As you board the train in this film, you’re transported into a magical world that represents the very heart of Airbnb.”

"As you wind your way through some of the amazing listings Airbnb has to offer, you get a different perspective on the world. With each viewing, you see something unique and interesting that you didn't notice before, mirroring the experience that many people have when they travel with Airbnb."

Earlier this month Airbnb created a film to mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall for US national TV campaign and microsite.
