The MOMAs – Marketing on Mobile Awards - have launched for a third year to celebrate the most effective and innovative work carried out in the mobile industry.

The awards, sponsored by Weve, are now open to any UK based individual, agency, company or business who is producing effective mobile strategies and campaigns, with Barclays scooping the Grand Prix at last year’s ceremony.

This year’s MOMAs has 33 categories to enter, including new categories Most Effective Brand on Mobile, Most Effective Programmatic Buying Mobile Campaign and Most Effective Affiliate Mobile Campaign.

Categories also include Best Product/Service Launch on Mobile and Best Use of Location, a category sponsored by Weve.

Nigel Clarkson, commercial director at Weve, said: “Mobile marketing gives clients and brands access into a whole new world of data for targeting customers. The most exciting of these data sets is without doubt location data. Already labelled ‘the cookie of mobile’, the digital footprint left behind on a mobile gives access to a whole new world of consumer insight that no other media channel can come close to matching. This award is looking to recognise the best uses of location data for clients looking to hit the right people, at the time in the right place.”

A top-notch line-up of judges are being compiled to judge the awards, including Alex Kozloff, head of mobile at IAB; Ben Phillips, global head of mobile at MediaCom; James Chandler, global mobile director at Mindshare; Sarah Watson, group mobile manager at net-a-porter.com; Wayne Bickerton, agency partner UK at Facebook; David Skerrett, managing partner at Nimbletank and Libby Robinson, EMEA managing director at M&C Saatchi Mobile.

The entry deadline for the awards is 20 February, with the winners to be revealed at an awards ceremony on 28 May in London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square.
