Macmillan Cancer Support has launched its Christmas TV advert featuring the late actress Lynda Bellingham, who also acted as an ambassador for the charity.

The advert, which launched today (17 November) and will run until 17 December, shows several people who have been affected by cancer in their homes at Christmas each reciting a line of the child’s nursery rhyme Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Bellingham narrated the ad, encouraging people to remember those who have died from cancer - having recorded the voiceover before her death.

Simon Philips, director of fundraising at Macmillan Cancer Support said: “We are extremely grateful to Lynda and her family for their long standing support. We believe that Lynda’s legacy lives on through this advert and will help many more people affected by cancer this Christmas and in the future.”

Bellingham, who passed away from cancer in October, will also return to screens this Christmas in a re-screening of the famous Oxo Christmas ad.
